STRENGTH TRAINING FOR EMPOWERED LIVING
Yes, of course we know that strength training helps us build muscle, protect our bones, recover from pain, improve metabolism and many other amazing things, but one of the most exciting discoveries in my opinion? A recent results from the Framingham Heart Study has found that adults who stayed physically active in midlife and later life had up to a 45% lower risk of developing dementia. Researchers have also found that greater overall muscle strength is associated with a substantially lower risk of developing Alzheimer's disease, cognitive impairment and and other age-associated neurodegenerative disorders. All the latest studies are teaching us something surprising: our muscles may play a much bigger role in brain health than we once thought.
Forty-five percent.
When I read that statistic, I couldn't stop thinking: How can we not do this? Not because exercise is a miracle cure, but because it is something we can control ..unlike so many other things in life.
Growing up, I watched my father train with kettlebells every single morning. That's one reason I've always loved kettlebells, sentimental vibes.. Also, unlike all other weights or gym machines, kettlebells train strength, mobility, balance, coordination, posture, and core stability all at the same time. They teach your entire body to work together, it's just like yoga asana, but with heavy resistance. Long before the research existed, my dad understood something simple: Kettlebells are great for life!
That's why we're launching:
'Strong for Life' Weightlifting Fundamentals Series:
Wednesdays & Fridays at 10:30am
A welcoming beginner course where you'll learn safe lifting techniques, build muscle, and discover how resistance training can be approachable, and really fun!
This series is perfect if you’re new to weightlifting or strength training, returning after a break or injury, or if you’ve been lifting for a while and secretly suspect your form could use a little glow-up. We break down foundational kettlebell movements step by step, focusing on alignment, breathing, load selection, and smart progression - so your strength practice feels empowering, safe, and sustainable.
Why Kettlebells? We use them because they're very practical. Because of it's unique design, any single Kettlebell exercise improves:
• Strength, Core stability, Range of Motion
• Grip strength and Coordination
• Balance and Mobility
In other words, they help us practice the kinds of movements we use every day: climbing stairs, playing tennis, lifting your over-stuffed ✈️ carry-on and taking 20,000 steps exploring new countries and hikes.
